Size and placement matter too.
Entryway rug placement.
A small 2 x3 rug in a giant entryway will look miniscule and let s be honest wimpy.
Choose a rug that gives off the illusion that your entryway is larger and more spacious.
If you re going for personality we suggest an oval shape with a bold pattern it will make the space seem long and inviting.
And the rug should carry your style giving visitors a clue to your home s personality as soon as they walk in the door.
Conversely a larger 5 x7 rug in an entryway that is barely that big itself will probably look too big for its britches.
It should clean easily because an entry way is a high traffic area.
In a long hallway style entrance we suggest a runner that extends almost the entire length of the hallway.
Patterned rugs can hide stains better than their solid counterparts though again light colors may not be the best choice if you live in a snowy or rainy climate.
Make sure the size of the rug is in proportion to the size of the entryway.
You do not want a high pile rug.
The rug should not only fit the space well the larger it is the warmer the space becomes.
